Brett Erickson is a passionate leader, entrepreneur, and educator dedicated to strengthening communities through storytelling, education, and nonprofit development. Based in Iowa City, Iowa, he currently serves as the Executive Director of GENEVA at the University of Iowa, supporting students in their academic and spiritual journeys. He is also the Founder of Specialty Products of Iowa Group (SPIG) and Owner of Oak House, LLC, where he helps organizations effectively communicate their stories.
With a commitment to education and community service, Brett is the Director of Development at Faith Academy, a role that allows him to support quality education and foster student success. Previously, he served as Marketing Director at Farmers Hen House and Regional Director at Safe Families for Children, where he worked to provide safe, temporary homes for children in need. His teaching experience includes positions at The University of Iowa and Bowling Green State University, as well as teaching Language Arts and Social Studies in New York City.
Brett holds a Ph.D. in Schools, Culture, and Society and a Bachelor of Arts in English Language and Literature from the University of Iowa. He also earned a Master of Arts in Cross-Cultural and International Education from Bowling Green State University. With experience in both nonprofit leadership and education, Brett continues to impact communities by empowering individuals and organizations to tell their stories and create meaningful change.
